Women in the Outdoors
Is dedicated to providing interactive educational outdoor opportunities for women ages 12 and older. Local chapters/organizations throughout the nation conduct outdoor learning events featuring hands-on activities.
The National WIld Turkey Federation's (NWTF) goal is to teach the importance of responsible wildlife management, increase participation in outdoor-related opportunities and to preserve the hunting tradition
The Women in the Outdoors Program will meet its goal by introducing more women to outdoor activities, training women as outdoor educators and providing a network for men and women with similar outdoor interests.
Your paid registration includes:
  Choice of 4 WITO Courses
  Use of all equipment
  One-Year subscription to the Women in the Outdoors magazine

Course Offerings:
Digital Photography: Learn the basics of photography including camera functions, lighting, proper exposure and composition. You will learn how to import images to computer an what setting to use for making prints. You will need your own camera; any kind of camera will be fine.
Massage: Learn how to give and receive a hand, foot and shoulder-neck massage.
Wreath Making: In this class, you will learn how to put together a pinecone wreath that will be used for any holiday.
Rug Making: Learn how to make throw rugs using old clothes. You will need to bring ripped jeans with you.
Soap Making or Hand Lotion: In this class, you will learn how to make homemade soap and hand lotions.
First Aid / Survival: Learn the proper techniques needed to apply first aid in the woods or how to survive when lost.
Jewelry Making: Learn how to use material from different types of sports to make beautiful pieces of jewelry.
Dehydration of Food: Learn how to use a dehydrator to make a variety of food from jerky to dried fruit. You will be given recipes and samples.
Cut Flower Arranging: This class will help with arranging flowers from the wild or from the store. You will be able to make your own arrangement to take home
Archery: Is an age-old sport growing in popularity for many as their choice of hunting and recreational activity. Teaching participants how to aim at targets 10-15 yards away. The course will also address archery equipment essential to becoming more involved in the sport
Muzzleloader: Travel back in time and learn information on black powder safety and equipment. Then they will teach you how to load shoot & clean.
Dutch Oven Cooking: Participants will be involved in preparing and putting together a meal for our lunch for the day.
Trapshooting: Participants will learn the proper way to hold a gun. Learn proper stance needed too successfully shoot clay targets.
Geocaching: Using a GPS you will be given clues/coordinates in order to complete the task of finding treasures. Enjoy a scenic walk through the woods while learning how to read a GPS
Fly Tying: Each participant will learn the proper steps needed to create their own personalized fly.
Fly Casting / Bait Casting: This Class will inform you on proper gear & technique of casting a rod or throwing a fly.
