KIWANIS / HILLSDALE COUNTY CONSERVATION CLUB
KIDS FISHING DERBY

Dates: June 7th, 2008
Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm
Place: Lewis Emery Park and the Rearing Ponds

The fishing derby is held on Michigan Free Fishing Weekend. No License is required

ALL CHILDERN MUST BE ACCOMPAINED BY AN ADULT

Registration begins at 9:30am. Registration is at the Community Center Building.

Each contestant must provide their own fishing gear. Contestants will be
registered by age group with prizes awarded by age group in each category.

There will be 4 age groups;
Group A   1-5 years old
Group B   6-8 years old
Group C   9-11 years old
Group D   12-16 years old

There will be 4 fish categories;
1. Bluegill / Sunfish
2. Perch
3. Bass
4. Honorable mention - catfish, turtles, whales etc....

The Conservation Club will serve a free hotdog lunch and the
Kiwanis will provide soft drinks and ice cream treats to the contestants.

FISHING DERBY RULES
Fishing will be permitted in designated areas only.
PLEASE STAY OFF THE DOCKS AND BE SAFETY CONCIOUS AT ALL TIMES
1. Catch and release is encouraged.
2. Fish caught before 10:00am will not qualify.
3. The prizes will be awarded for the longest fish in each age group and fish category.

HAVE A GOOD TIME AND BEE SAFE !!!!!

The Hillsdale Kiwanis Club nor the Hillsdale County Conservation Club members or
affiliates are responsible for accidents or theft. Parents and other accompanying adults
must supervise their children including no -contestants as well as contestants.
